ECCD organised and run the 4th International Conference on Evolving Cities (ICEC 2023) held at the University of Southampton from 12 – 14 September 2023.
Lights stay on in Kitonyoni during nationwide power outage
The Kitonyoni solar PV mini grid installed in 2012 by ECCD praised by the national media for providing unaffected electricity supply during Kenya’s longest blackout in recent years.

ECCD presented 8 papers at the 20th International Conference on Sustainable Energy (SET 2023), Nottingham, UK, with Professor Bahaj also presenting a keynote address
ECCD welcome Year 10 students for a one-week Civil Engineering work experience
ECCD welcomed five year 10 students from local, Southampton-based secondary schools for a one-week work placement from the 17th – 21st July.
