Samson is an energy economist with over 12 years in research, policy and strategy formulation around both grid and off-grid electrification. He has been instrumental in the development of the Kenya National Electrification Strategy, Rural Electrification Master Plan and various policies such as the “last mile connectivity” that have supported the accelerated electricity access in Kenya.
Samson is currently the Business Planning Manager at Kenya Power and Lighting Company in Kenya and a member of the Eastern Africa Power Pool Committee. Prior to this, he worked at the Rural Electrification Authority (Kenya) as the chief economist supporting the expansion of decentralised rural electrification options.
Samson holds a Master’s degree in Economic Policy and Analysis, an MBA in Strategic Planning and is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
