The 9th biennial Specialist Conference on “Efficient Use and Management of Water” is held every two years in a different location around the world, has been the flagship water efficiency conference for the International Water Association (IWA).
Efficient2017 was an opportunity for water efficiency professionals from all over the world to meet each other, network, and learn about new and different approaches to water efficiency programs. This year, IWAEfficient was held in Bath, UK, 18-20 JULY. Past locations include: Madrid (Spain), Santiago (Chile), Jeju Island (Korea), Sydney (Australia), the Dead Sea (Jordan), Paris (France), and Cincinnati (USA)
Researchers from the UK, Australia and the US were there as well as representatives from UK Water companies, consultancies and NGOs. Sustainable Energy Research Groups Dr Despina Manouseli presented a paper titled ‘Modeling Water Demand in Droughts (in England & Wales)‘. This paper highlighted the work SERG’s Dr Ben Anderson and Dr Manouseli have been doing on the group’s IMPETUS Project.
